Welcome back
to the world of lkp! We are continuing our quest to boldly go
where no band has gone before! The past few months almost acted
like summer, although the weather could not truly be considered
summer-like. We will have to just deal with the rain and cold,
and get ready for another sick and silly snow season! Those of
you who only see us in the mountainous regions are missing out
on some wild times at the rest of the clubs we play at. It never
ceases to amaze me the sheer numbers and frequent showings of
happy familiar faces at all of the bars we play. To all of you
regulars, we tip our collective hats and say thank you for your
support. By keeping us surrounded with craziness, we hopefully
rise to the occasion with our antics on stage. Keep that energy
coming, and we will fire it right back at you!In the CBN
department (that's complaints, bitches and nastys - thanks downtown
dave) - we have occasionally played at Platter's in Keene, NH,
and have always had a good time with the folks from that area
coming out to see us. Recently, some changes were happening at
the bar. Two days before our gig there on July 28, I called to
confirm the date and received a call the next day - the day before
the gig, mind you - and was told that they no longer do live entertainment.
Unfortunately, they never called to tell me. So, less than 24
hours before the gig, we were officially off for the weekend.
Needless to say, you can draw your own conclusions about our feelings
towards Platter's. our deepest apologies to those who did come
out to see us that weekend, and were greeted with an empty stage.
We will make it up to you at any other location that you come
out to see us at.Well, out with
the old and ian with the new. We have added some new rooms in
some new areas, and are greatly looking forward to playing with
new friends and fans. Special thanks to agent Paul Costley who
has gotten us gigs at both The Black Brimmer and The Yard in Manchester,
NH. Both of these clubs are great fun, so if you are planning
a trip to "manch-vegas";-) come out and play with us!
i have to say that the reaction when we first play a room makes
all the difference, and the folks at the Brimmer were all out
NUTS that night! Packed houses, great energy and positive attitudes.
When can we go back? The Yard was a blast as well, a huge venue
with good food and house sound and lights. Special thanks to Scott,
Wiz and Tim at the Yard for taking such good care of us. Some
other new rooms of mention are the Packing House in Lyndonville,
VT; the Matterhorn in Stowe, VT; Ollie's in Rutland, VT; and Deacon's
Den at Mount Snow. I just kept getting phone calls from you guys
in the new towns and had to keep expanding the locations that
the kid plays. Thanks for your support and see you out in our
mainstay rooms, or any of the new hot spots. This Just In
- a kid news flash . . .Sources have
just confirmed the location of the official lkp New Year's bash
and it is - THE WOBBLY BARN AT KILLINGTON! We will be sharing
the stage with the Wallbangers from the great state of New Jersey.
Preliminary information is that we will definitely be opening
the night and then either do alternating sets, or we'll play and
then get to have fun as they close the night out! Not to be missed!
The Wobbly, as always, is THE place for nightlife at Killington,
and we thank Gene at the Wobbly for thinking of us to join in
these outstanding festivities. Keep an eye out on the website
for updates and details on advance ticketing, etc.Speaking of
the website, those of you who check it have seen some drastically
more advanced stuff as we have given over the creative and updating
duties to someone far more creative and updateable than myself
- the duo of Deb and Mark, our fearless keyboard and bass players.
cue the music! A little Styx - Too much time on my hands! BOOM,
color; BOOM, new graphics; BOOM, everything! Check it out and
see the new additions over the coming months. Collectively we
are trying to get more info on and keep it interesting so we all
have a site to be proud of. Well, we're off to a great start,
and more coolness to come.
